Community Nurses

The district nursing team provide skilled nursing care to housebound patients. The assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of the care is under the direction of the two district nursing sisters.

Care is normally available from 08.30 to 17.00, with access to the out of hours service when necessary. It ranges from simple needs such as taking blood, to the highly complex care and advice needed by terminally ill people who wish to remain at home. Also dressings and post -operative care,  personal advice for bladder and bowel problems, the administration injections, plus advice for patients with physical disabilities are also delivered.
